Welcome to My Blog!

Hello and welcome to my blog, The Red-Headed Wanderer! This blog will showcase my travels, favorite things to do, best places to eat, coziest places to sleep, and how I am able to go on these trips. If you are a wanderer yourself, or would like to become one, follow along for some tips and inspiration!

Now, let me introduce myself. My name is Shelby, and I am a 23-year-old redhead. I live in Nashville but am originally from North Alabama. Growing up my family traveled throughout the United States all the time, some of my favorite places we've been to is Hawaii, Niagra Falls, St Louis, Sequoia National Park, San Diego, Palm Springs and many others! We have driven all the way from Alabama to Canada and even to California from Alabama! These trips instilled my love for travel.

As I entered college, I began wanting to travel to other countries. In 2019, my sister and I traveled to Belize and Guatemala with a travel group for 18–35-year old's, EF Ultimate Break. I had plans to study abroad in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and France my senior year of college; however, that was in 2020 when the world shut down. I was super bummed about the halt in my travel plans and did not end up traveling again outside of the country until recently in May of 2022, although my travel within the states continued. I went to some of the Greek Islands with EF Ultimate Break, and it was the most amazing and beautiful experience! A whole separate blog post will be about Greece, so stay tuned for that! I also got to see the beautiful beaches of the Dominican Republic this summer as well.

Looking ahead at some of my other travels this year, I am going to be traveling throughout Texas with my boyfriend and I am still trying to figure out how I can slip my way into one of my sister's trips to Zion National Park. Let me know in the comments some of your travel dreams or plans!
